What is the minimum level of English required to apply?

CISS recommends that students have at minimum an intermediate level of English proficiency to fully participate in a school program. However, we do offer schools with comprehensive ESL programs. Students may still apply if they have lower English abilities, but they can expect to have the majority of their classes in an ESL environment. In some schools students will take one period of ESL class and regular subjects with Canadian students.
For private schools, each school sets its own minimum level and the student level is assessed after submitting the application, writing the assessment test and having the interview with the school.
