Build confidence in English through interactive lessons that encourage natural communication. Students develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, with an emphasis on conversation and pronunciation. Daily life on campus and excursions around Toronto provide opportunities to put their learning into practice.

Turn ideas into possibilities.

Discover how creative ideas can become business opportunities. Through practical activities and collaborative challenges, students explore entrepreneurship while developing critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

The course concludes with students presenting their business ideas in a “Shark-Tank” style format, putting their learning into practice and building confidence in communicating their vision.

Prepare for your next steps.

Prepare for post-secondary studies and professional life in a supportive learning environment. Through self-reflection and exploration of study and career pathways, students identify their strengths, interests and goals, and develop practical plans for their future. Mindfulness sessions introduce strategies for managing stress and approaching new challenges with confidence.

The course concludes with the Future-Proof Challenge. In small groups with similar study or career interests, students present what they have learned about their chosen pathway, why it interests them and the steps each plans to take to pursue it.

The CISS at Trinity excursions showcase the best that Toronto has to offer.  Each week, students attend 1 full-day excursion and 3 half-day excursions as part of the programme.  Full-day excursions take place every Thursday and half day excursions may take place during the afternoon or evening.  Transportation, meals, and admission costs are included.

Full Day (One per week)

On non-excursion days, our team offers a variety of activities during the afternoons and evenings.  Students may choose to participate in afternoon activities, all of which are staff led and supervised.  Evening activities are considered mandatory for all students.  The options available each day are noted on the schedule and may include:

Once or twice per week, students may choose to sign up for an optional activity.  These activities are staff-led and supervised and additional costs apply.  Money is collected from the students at the programme.  Optional activity choices may include:

• Movies

Once per week, students may be allowed to sign-out in groups of 3 or more for independent local shopping and/or sightseeing.  Students must sign-out with a CISS staff and must remain with their group while they are off-campus. For safety and to keep students close to campus, they are not allowed to use any form of public transportation. Sign-out is considered a privilege and all rules must be followed.
