Located on a beautiful and historic downtown University of Toronto campus, CISS at Trinity is the ideal programme for students seeking a more academic approach to language learning.
We offer many study options for you this summer! Students who wish to improve their English skills may participate in 20 hours of language lessons plus 5 practical hours per week. Students ages 16-18 years, who are preparing for the upcoming challenges of post-secondary studies and their future professional life will want to choose our Academic & Career Prep course. Finally, students who see themselves creating their own path to success as an entrepreneur, will enjoy the new Future Innovators course.

The General English + Activity option is the ideal choice for international summer students who want to improve their English. With this option, students receive 10 hours of English as a Second Language (ESL) lessons per week. This includes classroom instruction in speaking, listening, reading and writing, with a focus on helping students of all proficiency levels to improve in their fluency and accuracy of speech.
English lessons comprise two of the five daily periods. You can then choose different land, water, or art activities to fill the remaining two or three periods.
General English
Daily Schedule: 20 hours + 5 hours of practicum per week
English Proficiency: All levels accepted
Learn English in a true University setting! CISS at Trinity is proud to offer a comprehensive ESL programme with 25 hours per week. Our language classes help students improve their fluency by encouraging natural communication through interactive and engaging lessons and activities. Students learn and practice their communication skills, while focusing on pronunciation and becoming more confident English speakers.
The programme offers participants 20 hours of morning English lessons and an additional 5 hours of practicum on two afternoons each week, providing students an opportunity to interact with other international students and to practice their weekly learning in a new and exciting environment.
Lessons include a mix of classroom instruction and practical work which is language-driven and may include cultural outings and excursions.
Academic & Career Prep (Ages 16-18)
Daily Schedule: 25 hours per week
English Proficiency: High Intermediate or Advanced (IELTS 5.0+)
This programme is designed to help international high school students prepare for the coming challenges of post-secondary studies and professional life in a supportive and academically stimulating environment. Combining critical exercises in self-reflection with an exploration of the study and career options available to them, students will come away from the programme with a better understanding of their own identities and life goals, and how to strategize for their futures. Mindfullness sessions give students the tools needed to manage stress or anxiety as they face the challenges of pursuing a successful future.
Future Innovators (Ages 14-18)
Daily Schedule: 25 hours per week
English Proficiency: Intermediate or Advanced (IELTS 4.0+)
In today’s world, creators and innovators are the most likely to succeed and have the greatest impact on society. We are invested in the future success of our students. This is why CISS is excited to have the Future Innovators course option at our CISS at Trinity programme for 2024!
Students come together and cultivate skills that empower them to think creatively and acquire the unique mindset of an entrepreneur. This exciting new course aims to develop critical thinking, innovative decision-making, problem-solving, brainstorming, and teamwork skills. In their final presentations, students are challenged to present their ideas and explain their vision.
We offer a positive and supportive learning environment in which students are inspired to embrace their innovator spirit and to imagine unique career paths that complement their individual strengths and talents.

Welcome to one of the most beautiful campuses in Toronto! Our downtown location puts the city right at your doorstep. Just south of the famous neighbourhood of Yorkville, you are a short walk to Yonge Street, coffee shops, stores and so much more. On campus, you will find a comfortable, clean, and safe residence, a beautiful garden courtyard, air-conditioned student lounges, and dining facilities that are modern…with a historic charm. Finally, WiFi is available throughout the campus.

The majority of rooms available are single, but some students may share a double room with another student attending this programme. Students are separated within the residence by gender. Each room has 1 or 2 individual beds, desks, chairs, dressers and/or wardrobes. All bed linens are provided, along with a bath towel. Students must bring their toiletries. There are card-operated laundry machines in the residence – we provide laundry detergent. Shared washrooms and shower facilities are located on every floor. Safety is our priority so our staff live in the same residence, providing full supervision.
We provide you with three meals daily, Monday – Saturday. Brunch and dinner are served on Sundays to allow time for you to sleep in. All meals are provided in a modern cafeteria which features various stations offering a wide choice of main courses. Lunch and dinner are complimented by a full salad bar, dessert offerings and unlimited drinks. All students eat together in the university dining hall that is decorated with the history of the school. Our meals are cooked on-site by professional staff and meet rigid nutritious standards.

Activities
Students always have something to do, beyond their course of study. Our programme includes full-day and half-day excursions, plus we offer a variety of afternoon and evening activities.

The CISS at Trinity excursions showcase the best that Toronto has to offer. Each week, students attend 1 full-day excursion and 3 half-day excursions as part of the programme. Full-day excursions take place every Thursday and half day excursions may take place during the afternoon or evening. Transportation, meals, and admission costs are included.

On non-excursion days, our team offers a variety of activities during the afternoons and evenings. Students may choose to participate in afternoon activities, all of which are staff led and supervised. Evening activities are considered mandatory for all students. The options available each day are noted on the schedule and may include:

Afternoon Sign-out
Once per week, students may be allowed to sign-out in groups of 2 or more for independent shopping and/or sightseeing. Students must sign-out with a CISS staff and must remain with their group while they are off-campus.
