Do students have an opportunity to be involved on sports teams and social clubs?

Yes. All schools encourage international students to become involved in school teams and clubs. In many private schools, this is a mandatory component of school life. Selection of sport teams and clubs will vary from school to school and may depend on the timing of the student’s stay in Canada. For example, many sports teams may only consider accepting students who are enrolled for the entire duration of the sport season.
In all cases, students must “try out” or audition for school sports teams or certain clubs, and demonstrate sufficient skills to be selected as a team member.
