Situated on the beautiful and historic campus of the University of Toronto, CISS at Trinity offers an exciting summer experience for students looking to improve their English, develop new skills and make the most of life in one of Canada’s most dynamic cities.
Students can choose from three study options:
General English – 20 hours of English lessons per week, designed to improve communication skills, build confidence and help students use English more effectively in everyday situations.
Academic & Career Prep – Designed for students aged 16–18, this course develops the academic and communication skills needed for success in post-secondary education and future careers.
Future Entrepreneurs – An inspiring and practical course for business-minded students, exploring entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation and the skills needed to turn ideas into action.
Whatever their study choice, students enjoy a full programme of activities and excursions, giving them the opportunity to explore Toronto, meet students from around the world and experience university life on the historic University of Toronto campus.

The General English + Activity option is the ideal choice for international summer students who want to improve their English. With this option, students receive 10 hours of English as a Second Language (ESL) lessons per week. This includes classroom instruction in speaking, listening, reading and writing, with a focus on helping students of all proficiency levels to improve in their fluency and accuracy of speech.
English lessons comprise two of the five daily periods. You can then choose different land, water, or art activities to fill the remaining two or three periods.

Learn English in a true University setting! CISS at Trinity is proud to offer a comprehensive ESL programme with 20 hours per week. Our language classes help students improve their fluency by encouraging natural communication through interactive and engaging lessons and activities. Students learn and practice their communication skills, while focusing on pronunciation and becoming more confident English speakers.
Future Entrepreneurs
2 Weeks: July 04 – Juy 17

In today’s world, creators and innovators are the most likely to succeed and have the greatest impact on society. We are invested in the future success of our students and feel proud to offer the Future Entrepreneurs course option at our CISS at Trinity programme!
Lessons are designed to empower students to think creatively and acquire the unique mindset of an entrepreneur. This exciting course aims to develop critical thinking, innovative decision-making, problem-solving, and practical business skills.
At the conclusion of the course, students have the opportunity to showcase their newly acquired skills through presentations, where they are encouraged to articulate their ideas and confidently express their vision.
We offer a positive and supportive learning environment in which students are inspired to embrace their entrepreneurial spirit and to imagine unique career paths that complement their individual strengths and talents.
Academic & Career Prep **Ages 16-18
3 weeks: July 11 – July 31
Lessons: 20 hours per week
English Proficiency: High Intermediate or Advanced (IELTS 5.0+)
Prepare for university and your future.
This programme is designed to help international high school students prepare for the coming challenges of post-secondary studies and professional life in a supportive and academically stimulating environment. Combining critical exercises in self-reflection with an exploration of the study and career options available to them, students will come away from the programme with a better understanding of their own identities and life goals, and how to strategize for their futures. Mindfullness sessions give students the tools needed to manage stress or anxiety as they face the challenges of pursuing a successful future.
At the end of this engaging 3-week course, students will have a meaningful chance to reflect on the knowledge and skills they have gained, allowing them to share their thoughtful ideas and perspectives with their classmates in a supportive and collaborative setting.

Facilities
Experience summer in the heart of Toronto at Trinity College, one of the University of Toronto’s most historic and beautiful campuses. Located in the heart of the city, CISS at Trinity is within easy walking distance of Yorkville, Yonge Street, museums, shops, restaurants and many of Toronto’s most popular attractions.
Students stay in the university residence and enjoy a welcoming campus environment, with comfortable air-conditioned lounges, a beautiful garden courtyard and spaces to relax and socialize. The dining hall combines modern facilities with the character of this historic university setting, while WiFi is available throughout the campus.
At CISS at Trinity, students will experience university life while making friends from around the world and discovering everything Toronto has to offer.

Accommodation
Experience university life while staying in a comfortable single or double room in a university residence. Students are accommodated by gender within the residence, with shared washrooms and shower facilities located on each floor.
Rooms include individual beds, desks and chairs, and storage space. Bed linens and a bath towel are provided; students should bring their own toiletries. Laundry facilities are available in the residence for a nominal fee, with laundry detergent provided.
CISS staff live in the residence and provide supervision throughout the programme.
Meals
Students enjoy three meals a day from Monday to Saturday, with a relaxed brunch and dinner on Sunday. Meals are served buffet-style in the university dining hall, with a variety of options to suit different tastes and dietary needs.

Students always have something to do, beyond their course of study. Our programme includes full-day and half-day excursions, plus we offer a variety of afternoon and evening activities.

Included Excursions
The CISS at Trinity excursions showcase the best that Toronto has to offer. Each week, students attend 1 full-day excursion and 3 half-day excursions as part of the programme. Full-day excursions take place every Thursday and half day excursions may take place during the afternoon or evening. Transportation, meals, and admission costs are included.

Afternoon & Evening Activities
On non-excursion days, our team offers a variety of activities during the afternoons and evenings. Students may choose to participate in afternoon activities, all of which are staff led and supervised. Evening activities are considered mandatory for all students. The options available each day are noted on the schedule and may include:

Optional Activities
Once or twice per week, students may choose to sign up for an optional activity. These activities are staff-led and supervised and additional costs apply. Money is collected from the students at the programme. Optional activity choices may include:

Afternoon Sign-out
Once per week, students may be allowed to sign-out in groups of 3 or more for independent local shopping and/or sightseeing. Students must sign-out with a CISS staff and must remain with their group while they are off-campus. For safety and to keep students close to campus, they are not allowed to use any form of public transportation. Sign-out is considered a privilege and all rules must be followed.
