Offered in Toronto or Vancouver, this unique programme combines personal ESL study + Cooking hours.
The curriculum of the language study is designed to your personal language level and requested goals.
Each week, you and your teacher determine a schedule for both your language lessons and your cooking lessons. Outside of the lesson times, you have plenty of opportunity for exploring the city.
At time of application you choose.
You and your teacher spend time grocery shopping and creating meals and desserts. Included with your programme is a visit to the local supermarket to select and buy ingredients to prepare a traditional Canadian meal and dessert. Students learn some new cooking techniques and have recipes to bring home with them.
|Location||Language||Activity||ESL Hours + Activity Hours Per Week|
|Toronto||English||Cooking||10 hours ESL + 5 hours Cooking|
|Vancouver||English||Cooking||10 hours ESL + 5 hours Cooking|
All our teachers hold recognized TESL or teaching certification. Lessons are delivered using modern communicative and task-oriented methodologies, including the use of current news media, role-playing, and interactive practice.
Two students, if travelling together, can request to stay and learn in one teacher’s home. Both students receive the same lessons, must be of the same language level, and must select the same activity, which they will do together.
The benefit to this style of programme is that your homestay is both your home and your school. Your host is your friend, family, and teacher. The more you can tell us about yourself, the better we can match a family to suit your personality and needs. Once a family has been selected, you receive a profile prior to your arrival.
Your host family welcomes you into their home as part of their family. Your own bedroom is complete with bed, dresser and closet. You also have access to a quiet study area, either in your room or in another part of the home. Three well-balanced and nutritious meals daily are included, and, when possible, are enjoyed with the family. The language spoken in the home will be English, providing you with a complete immersion environment.
