Canada: #1 in Quality of Life, #2 Best Country
Tue, 06 Feb 2018
For the third consecutive year, Canada has ranked #1 country in the world for Quality of Life, according to the 2018 US News and World Report survey, and #2 Best Overall Country, behind only Switzerland.
Quality of Life is measured by people’s perceptions about things like job security, political stability, freedom and environmental quality. It also measures things like access to food, housing, quality of education and health, as well as the availability of basic employment. For Canada, survey respondents view the country as the most politically stable in the world, as having the best job market; the country ranks number two for safe environment and public education system. Meanwhile, the public health system is viewed as the third best in the world.
The “Best Overall” study takes into consideration a combination of measures, such as quality of life, citizenship, entrepreneurship, openness for business, cultural influence, power, adventure, uniqueness, and heritage.
