Canada ranks 7th in World Happiness Report 2018,

Thu, 15 Mar 2018

The World Happiness Report started six years ago, and since then, Canada has consistently ranked among the top 10 countries. The list of the top 10 countries has remained the same for the past two years, with Finland at #1 country, and Canada at #7. Canada is the highest-ranking English-speaking country, making it a great option for international students who are looking to develop their English communication skills.

The report considers the following factors:

-          Gross domestic product per person

-          Healthy life expectancy

-          The respondent’s perception of the following:

o   Social support in times of need

o   Freedom of choice

o   Corruption in their society

o   Generosity

This year, for the first time, the report also evaluated the happiness of immigrants, and Canada ranked 4th most accepting country for migrants. This means that it’s a place that is welcoming to people from different backgrounds and origins, offering a supportive environment for newcomers.

CISS offers amazing programmes where students from different nationalities can experience some of this “Canadian happiness”. From five different  summer programmes to full academic year in over 60 communities in Canada, from one-to-one language learning in a teacher’s home to a simple summer homestay experience, CISS has something unique for everyone.
